Obituary

Obituary

Calvin Jerome Johnson, affectionately known as “Noodie,” was the youngest of six children born to the union of Herman Johnson Jr. and Fannie Bell on November 5, 1967, in Houston, Texas.

At an early age, Calvin gave his life to Christ. He was baptized in Jesus’ name and received the gift of the Holy Ghost at Faith Temple Church under the leadership of Suffragan Bishop Anthony Alcorn Sr.

On November 7, 1987, Calvin married Jennifer Tyler, and their union was blessed with two beloved daughters.

Calvin received his formal education in the North Forest School District, attending Roger Elementary School, Northwood Middle School and graduating from Forest Brook High School.

His professional career included positions at Sears Service Center, First City National Bank, and the City of Houston’s Health and Human Services Department. He later joined his father, Herman Johnson Jr., and his brother, Ray Johnson in their family business, Unique Filter Service. With an entrepreneurial spirit, Calvin eventually branched out on his own and established his business, E & J Filter Service.

Calvin departed this life on Thursday, October 15, 2026. He was preceded in death by his father, Herman Johnson Jr.; his mother, Fannie Bell; and his brother, Michael.

Calvin leaves to cherish his precious memory his two daughters, Eboni Broussard (Sean) and Jasmine Johnson (Dimishun); two sisters, Lillian Faye and Linda Faye; and two brothers, Roy Lee Sr. (Lola) and Ray Sr. (Beverly). He also leaves behind five cherished grandchildren: Armani, Erin, Dimishun Jr., India, and Domani; and his beloved grandpup, Bentley.

He will also be lovingly remembered by his last surviving uncle, Levon Thompson; Jasmine C., whom he loved as a daughter; Quincy, Lisa, and Timecia, who were like family; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.

Calvin’s love, laughter, kindness, and unforgettable presence will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Though he is no longer with us in body, his legacy will live on through the lives he touched and the family he cherished.
